Looking at the responses to our survey, there is no one clear path to how accounting marketers are handling their SEO. SEO is a key part of any good marketing strategy, but its ever-changing dynamic makes it hard to navigate for small marketing teams. That is most likely why the majority of our poll participants are outsourcing their SEO.

There are, however, many online resources (many free or low cost), that can help navigate SEO for marketers who choose not to outsource. Our poll responses were evenly distributed across the board with some using SEM Rush, Yoast, MOZ, SpyFu and SiteImprove. These resources help to educate and inform marketers on how to best find their keywords and target their content to get more eyes on their website.
