Successful marketing begins with a solid plan. But what does that plan look like? How much detail is provided? How do you measure success? Whether you are putting together your first marketing plan or looking for ways to improve your current planning process, this session is for you.

During this hand-on, interactive session, you will learn what goes into both firm-wide and niche marketing plans. You’ll hear how to use competitive research, a SWOT analysis, revenue segmentation and more as the foundation of your strategy. Then you will roll-up your sleeves for a series of individual and small group exercises where you will begin developing your own SMART goals that prove ROI.

You will not only leave with valuable information and templates, but you will have the opportunity to get a running start on your own plans with input from peers as well as the session facilitator. Together, we will address common issues that arise, answer tough questions and arm you with the knowledge needed to go home and make it happen.

Note: Upon registering for this event, you will receive pre-planning homework that includes worksheets and a list of material you’ll want to gather and review. This will prepare you for the exercises and help you develop questions you want to have answered.

Katie Tolin is a former in-house marketer turned consultant. As president and chief growth guide at CPA Growth Guides, she now helps accounting firms drive top-line revenue and profitability through data-driven marketing strategies, specialization, inbound marketing and formalized sales processes.

A former president of the Association for Accounting Marketing, Katie has been inducted into the accounting marketing Hall of Fame, was named Marketer of the Year and has won many awards for her marketing efforts. In recent years she has twice been named to Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential list and was one of CPA Practice Advisor’s most Powerful Women in Accounting. During her nearly 20 year career, she has held marketing and growth roles at a local law firm as well as with accounting firms Rea & Associates, SS&G and BDO.
