AAM’s most prestigious award recognizes a marketer or business developer who has demonstrated exemplary performance in the field of accounting marketing. It is presented annually at the AAM summit.
This award is administered by a sponsoring organization that solicits nominations and judges, overseeing an objective process to truly recognize the top marketer that year. Anyone can nominate a person for this award. To be considered, nominees have to complete an extensive form and answer essay questions. They must also supply references who the sponsor can contact to gather additional perspectives on the marketer’s accomplishments.
What are the requirements?
- Must hold a senior-level marketing position in public accounting for at least three years, although not necessarily at the same firm.
What are the judging criteria?
- Criteria for selection focus on leadership and impact rather than on conceptual or theoretical work.
- Candidates must have made a major contribution to their firm by:
- strengthening an existing marketing program
- creating/introducing a new marketing program
- significantly increasing a firm's marketing orientation
The inaugural sponsor of this award, from 1993 to 2013, was CPA Practice Management Forum. In 2014, INSIDE Public Accounting took over as sponsor.
