AAM Headquarters Update

The AAM Board, Committees and Headquarters staff are busy planning for 2010 by examining ways we can maximize the value of your membership. Once we have a completed plan, we will share with all members and AAM stakeholders so you can see how AAM's strategic direction will benefit you. In the meantime, we are working on the following:

Membership Renewals: One of the best investments you can make for yourself and your company is to renew your membership. Pledge your commitment to the accounting marketing industry through membership in the only association fully representing you and your company's marketing interests. An invoice has been mailed to you for 2010 dues. Please send payment to AAM Headquarters or you can complete your renewal online through the Members Only section of the Web site.

AAM High: How to Keep Momentum and Close the Deal, the final part of a 3-part series aimed to help your firm grow will be held Wednesday, December 16th at 3:00 PM EDT. You did not have to participate in the prior two sessions to participate in the third. To learn more about the session and to register, please click here.

Committee Updates: Many of our AAM volunteers have been busy working on projects that will be coming your way soon:
  • Conference: Getting ready to launch the 2010 Conference Web site and open online registration in December.
  • Education: Finalizing a document on Marketing and Sales Roles in Accounting and planning launch of new Salary and Productivity Survey.
  • MarkeTrends: Completing production of the first issue of 2010, and looking at ways of improving the newsletter in the coming year.
  • Web Site: Evaluating current Discussion List platform and researching other options.
  • Communications: Developing communication strategy to best utilize different formats to communicate with members and AAM stakeholders.
  • Chapter Resources: Developing a chapter support manual that will include "how to start a chapter" and "tips and best practices."

If you have any questions, please contact AAM Headquarters.

AAM Summit Session Recap: Video Killed the Radio Star

Sara Robertson, Marketing Manager, GBQ

If video killed the radio star, online video will eventually beat down the slumbering mix of text and photos on most modern Web sites. Video gives you a better medium for building relationships because your visitors can see and hear people they can relate to and connect with. The evidence is everywhere. Overall, growth in online video is robust, increasing 45 percent in 2008 from the year prior to 13.5 billion total monthly views. Thanks, YouTube! B2B and B2C marketers in the U.S. will take a closer look at online video in 2009, according to a survey conducted in December 2008 by PermissionTV. Most place it first on their digital marketing to-do list, topping social networking, podcasting and the like.
