Have a Question for a Summit Presenter?: Conference Website Offers Ways to Interact

Katie Tolin, Marketing Director, Rea & Associates, Inc, New Philadelphia, OH

If you’ve ever been to an AAM conference, you know there can be quite a line to ask questions of presenters after their respective sessions. Sometimes that line is so long, you give up and hope to run into the speaker later in the week. Well, there’s no line at www.aam.conference2010.org.

This year AAM launched an interactive conference website giving you the unique opportunity to interact with speakers before the event. Do you have a question on a topic? Something specific you’d like to see covered? These are perfect examples of how you should be using the site. Speakers are currently putting their finishing touches on their presentations, and they want to tailor them to you. Log-on today and let them know what you’d like to hear discussed.

You can do a lot more on the conference site than interact with presenters. Here are a couple other ways to put the conference site to use:

  1. Networking. Looking for someone to join you for dinner or drinks and a little networking? Post something to the discussion forum.
  2. News. Don’t miss a thing. Follow the feed of recent tweets from AAM HQ on the news tab.
  3. About the presenter. Click on “view more” under a presenter’s photo for biographical information and to contact the presenter directly. If the presenter tweets, you can see recent posts by clicking on the Twitter tab.
  4. Site Seeing. Follow the current discussion in the forum area on local attractions and activities. Here you can share and find suggestions of things to do before and after the summit.
  5. Know anyone? Check out and see who else is registered for the same session you are. That way you can meet up before the session and discuss afterward how you’ll put the information to use at your firm.

There’s a lot of ways to interact on the conference site, so be sure to bookmark the features you’ll want to visit most. See you in DC!
